How the rounds work

Early Action plus three rounds, each with a decision release date and a confirmation deadline (typically 30 days after the decision). Scholarships are decided by the Admissions Committee while the application is evaluated (complete the scholarship section in the application); scholarship decisions are given at the time of admission.

International applicants

International candidates are strongly encouraged to apply by Round 2 to allow time for visa paperwork and processing. STEM-designated degree. Scholarships are available to all qualified candidates regardless of citizenship. International transcripts must be accompanied by an official English translation. Applicants from colleges and universities outside the U.S. must submit a valid GMAT score or apply for a GMAT waiver. Non-U.S. citizens (and U.S. citizens with extensive international study) must submit an English proficiency test score unless waived (see test rows).

  • Applicant Snapshot (up to four slides, PDF)Required

    Required. Format the Applicant Snapshot as a slide presentation (up to four slides), created with any software and uploaded as a PDF. Avoid audio or video files. The Admissions Committee reviews it; no presentation is required. Share personal dimensions beyond academic and work achievements.

  • One-page resumeRequired

    A one-page resume summarizing your education, work experience, skills, and accomplishments.

  • Transcripts from all colleges and universities attendedRequired

    Include all prior coursework including summer sessions and any graduate studies. International transcripts must be accompanied by an official English translation. An unofficial transcript is accepted for application purposes; if admitted, a final, official transcript with proof of graduation is required prior to enrollment. Only full term-by-term transcripts are accepted; degree audits are not.

  • Written statement (500 words or fewer)Required

    Required written statement responding to the career-plans prompt in 500 words or fewer.

  • One recommendation1 letter

    Someone familiar with your professional or academic background.

    One recommendation is required. Choose someone familiar with your professional or academic background who can provide a comprehensive assessment of your qualifications and skills, ideally with specific examples.

  • GMAT (required for non-U.S. degree holders unless waived)Required — waiver possible

    GMAT or GRE scores are not required for students who have, or are expected to have, an undergraduate degree from a U.S. college or university prior to enrollment. Applicants from colleges and universities outside the U.S. are required to submit a valid GMAT score or apply for a GMAT waiver. The Admissions Committee may request the GMAT or GRE to help assess academic readiness. Test scores older than five years are not accepted. Codes: XM7-2D-26 for GMAT and 6998 for GRE.

    Waiver / exemption: To request a waiver, complete the Mendoza Test Waiver Request Form (go.mendoza.nd.edu) and provide all required documentation.

    Waiver / exemption: Test scores may be waived if you completed at least six full-time semesters or nine full-time quarters at a university where English is the primary language. Transcripts will verify this, and the Admissions Committee will notify you if additional information is needed.
