International applicants
International students seeking an initial F-1 visa must apply by Round 4 (March 10, 2027) and are strongly encouraged to apply by Round 3 (the general international-applicants page says Round 1 or 2). Round 5 is open only to domestic applicants and to international applicants who can transfer an F-1 visa or are already in the U.S. on a visa eligible to study. Degrees from outside the U.S. need a course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member agency; some three-year degrees are accepted (contact the admissions officer first). An I-20 requires documented funding for one academic year; federal aid is not available to international students, who are automatically considered for merit scholarships. STEM-designated (OPT for up to 36 months). Taught in person in Washington, D.C.; Carey provides no housing.

Requirements
Course-by-course credential evaluation (degrees from outside the U.S. only)Required
Official course-by-course evaluation from a NACES member agency for every degree earned or expected outside the U.S., confirming U.S. bachelor's equivalence. Applicants still studying submit an evaluation of completed coursework and an updated one after conferral.
Two essaysRequired
Two required essays: the first topic is required for all applicants; the second is chosen from a list in the application. Essays should be 300–500 words, 12-point font, double-spaced, with the question named at the top. An optional additional-information section is available.
Résumé or CVRequired
A current résumé or CV with the months and years of each work experience; strong professional experience is preferred, although work experience is not required for admission. The program page lists 'Résumé (one page)'.
Official transcript(s)
The school’s official pages say this differently. Here is what each one says — check with the school before you rely on it.
Official transcript(s) (program page wording)
The program page's application-requirements list says 'Official transcript(s)'.
MS in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence ↗Transcripts (unofficial accepted for the application)
Transcripts for the bachelor's degree and from every college or university where you attempted more than 15 credit hours. Unofficial transcripts may be submitted for the admissions process; official transcripts are required before the degree is conferred (and before federal financial aid can be offered).
Full-Time MS Application ↗Recommendation1 letter · professional
Program page: 'One professional recommendation'. How-to-apply page: choose someone who knows you professionally and can speak to your strengths; you should have been in their class, reported to them directly, and/or shared your interest in graduate school with them. Use a work email. Relatives and friends strongly discouraged. FAQ: the letter can arrive a reasonable time after the deadline.
One recommendation is required; up to two will be read. Enter the recommender's name and work email in the application.
GMAT or GREOptional
Full-time MS programs are test-optional for all applicants; you indicate on the application whether you submit a score. Scores up to five years old, in-person or at-home; no preference between GMAT and GRE. Self-report, and have official scores sent to Carey.
Duolingo English Test, IELTS, PTE or TOEFL iBTIf your degree wasn't taught in EnglishRequired
Duolingo English Test: Preferred minimum 130. Official scores required.
IELTS: Preferred minimum 7.0. Official scores required.
PTE (Pearson Test of English): Preferred minimum 70. Official scores required.
TOEFL iBT: Preferred minimum 100 ('MyBest' score acceptable). TOEFL Essentials is not accepted. Official scores required.
Waiver / exemption: Exempt if you completed (or will complete) an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited U.S. college or university; or an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited institution where English was the ONLY language of instruction (shown on the university's website, transcript or mark sheets); or you have lived and worked in the U.S. for at least four years immediately before applying. Claim the exemption in the application's 'Supporting Materials' section. Pages word the scope differently: the international page says applicants whose first or primary language is not English; the program page says required for non-U.S. citizens whose undergraduate degree was not taught in English; the FAQ says a waiver may apply if the undergraduate degree was fully taught in English.
Video interview (Kira)Required · with the application · Kira
All full-time MS applicants (except the Master's in Management) complete a recorded video interview on the Kira platform. It is built into the application, so allow time to finish it before the deadline. The program page lists it as 'Recorded interview'.
Who can apply
Bachelor's degreeRequired
Transcripts must show that you have earned or are in the process of earning a bachelor's degree. Non-U.S. and three-year degrees: see international notes.
