Where only a date is shown, the school doesn’t give a time of day — confirm the exact cutoff with the school.

How the rounds work

Three application options: Priority Decision, Regular Decision and Rolling Decision. Rolling admissions runs from March 2 to June 15, with decisions released on a space-available basis through the end of June.

International applicants

All applicants are considered in the same pool regardless of citizenship. International applicants who require an F-1 visa are encouraged to apply during either the Priority Decision or Regular Decision round. A bachelor's degree equivalent to a four-year American degree is required, which may include an undergraduate degree earned in three years. If English was not the primary language of instruction at your undergraduate institution, submit a course-by-course credential evaluation (NACES-member evaluator) and an English test score; transcripts not in English need an English translation from a NACES accredited service. Admitted students submit financial documentation for the I-20 after admission; do not submit it with the application. STEM-designated: OPT (12 months) and the STEM OPT Extension (24 months). UVA does not offer financial aid to international students. Enrolling students with English-language test scores take the UVA English Language Proficiency Exam (UVELPE) before their first term.
