How the rounds work

Six In-Person deadlines (four priority deadlines, an international deadline and a final deadline). Decisions are released approximately 1 to 2 months after each deadline; finishing early does not bring an early decision. The application portal may close early if the cohort is filled.

International applicants

Only the full-time, in-person program is visa-eligible (the 1-Year 12-Course Program and the 2-Year Thesis Track). Applicants who need visa sponsorship from UChicago must apply by the International Application Deadline (January 26, 2027). STEM-designated degree (STEM OPT extension eligible; approval at USCIS discretion). Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL iBT or IELTS Academic) unless a UChicago waiver criterion is met. The Online program is open to international students but does not provide visa sponsorship.

Undergraduate or graduate GPA is not needed.

  • Unofficial transcripts from all previous colleges and universitiesRequired

When applying, only unofficial transcripts are required: upload one unofficial transcript from each university attended (an unofficial undergraduate transcript is required even if you hold advanced degrees).
