How the rounds work
Admission occurs in the fall, spring and summer semesters. Published Fall deadlines are yearless: the program FAQ gives a priority deadline (January 15) and a regular deadline (May 1). Applications submitted after the application deadline will still be processed; however, a decision may not be reached in time for registration. Competitive files may be processed before all recommendation letters are received.
International applicants
STEM-designated program: graduating students are eligible to work for up to 36 months under the Optional Practical Training program; curricular internships for a maximum of 12 months while a student. Applicants whose native language is not English and who were educated outside the United States must demonstrate English proficiency (exempt if the bachelor's or master's degree was earned through instruction and examination in English, or the native country's primary language is English). Applicants with three-year undergraduate degrees are considered (holistic review). Upload copies of transcripts/mark sheets and the official degree certificate (unless the transcript shows the degree awarded, major and date), with certified English translations; outside credential evaluations are not required or accepted. Official documents and test scores are sent only after admission. Students in the U.S. on an F1 or J1 visa may only be admitted to degree-seeking status. International students who receive the Dean's Excellence Scholarship pay the same tuition as Texas residents.
