The FAQ gives two different exemption rules: (1) you completed all requirements for a high school diploma, bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a country where the primary and dominant language is English, and English was the language of instruction (transfer credits must also come from such a country); (2) you earned an undergraduate or graduate degree from a U.S. institution or from an institution where English was the sole language of instruction according to the World Higher Education Database (WHED) — if English isn't the sole language listed, or no language is listed, the waiver doesn't apply.

Who can apply

• Undergraduate degreeRequired

  An undergraduate degree from a recognized institution; applicants are evaluated on academic performance and leadership potential.

• Quantitative background (recommended)Optional

  A business background isn't required, but a strong quantitative background is encouraged, with coursework in subjects such as mathematics, computer science, economics, statistics, engineering and physics. If undergraduate training isn't sufficiently quantitative, three or more years of work experience in a field related to business analytics is recommended. Work experience itself is not required.

• 3-year bachelor's degrees need additional studyRequired

  Applies only to 3-year bachelor's degrees (except the United Kingdom), e.g. from India, Australia or Italy: you also need a 1-year master's degree, a 1-year Post Graduate Diploma in the same field as the 3-year degree, or a 2-year master's in any field. Chartered Accountant Final Examination certificates count as postgraduate coursework when combined with a 3-year accounting bachelor's.
