How the rounds work

Admission opens in August and applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the class is full. Under Key Dates the program page adds, printed without a year: 'International applicants must meet the Graduate School's deadlines as follows: October 15: Application submission key date; December 15: Recommended application completion date; February 15: Final application completion date for funding consideration; May 1: Final consideration date.' Applications submitted by December 15 will receive priority consideration for merit-based scholarships and assistantships. None of these dates is yet tied to the 2027 entry cycle.

International applicants

International applicants must follow the Graduate School deadlines for summer start programs; the program page lists October 15 (Application Submission Deadline) and December 15 (Application Completion Deadline), printed without a year, while the Graduate School's own table gives Summer: October 15 online submission and February 15 file completion for F and J visa applicants. Applicants whose native language is not English must score at least 80 overall on the TOEFL iBT or 6.5 overall on the IELTS (the Graduate School also accepts Duolingo and lists exemptions). Transcripts in a language other than English must be accompanied with English translations. STEM-designated: international students may qualify for a 36-month OPT extension.
