How the rounds work
Three campus-based deadlines (Nov. 1, 2026; Feb. 1, 2027; May 1, 2027), all for a Fall 2027 start. The deadlines page lists decision notification on a 'Rolling basis', says to submit by the earliest date possible for priority consideration, and says applications submitted after the appropriate deadline will be reviewed in the order received, assuming space is available. The program page says 'Decisions are released a week after each deadline' (below its online deadline table).
International applicants
STEM-designated and F-1 visa compliant: F-1 students may apply for 12 months of OPT plus the 24-month STEM OPT extension. International candidates who require a new F-1 or J-1 visa are encouraged to apply by the May 1, 2027 deadline (the graduate admissions page calls it the final deadline for them). Non-native English speakers need a TOEFL iBT, IELTS, Duolingo or PTE Academic score unless they completed a bachelor's or master's degree where English is the language of instruction, worked full-time for two years in the U.S. or another native English-speaking environment, or earned a degree in a listed English-speaking country; no minimum scores are published. Applicants who are neither U.S. citizens nor permanent residents upload a scanned passport (permanent residents upload a green card). Transcripts need English translations; coursework completed outside the U.S. goes through Northeastern's Foreign Credential Evaluation (FCE) process for on-campus programs.
