Deadlines

2027 deadline not published yet. Check the official page ↗.

How the rounds work

"We make decisions on a rolling basis, meaning that we consider each application as it's completed rather than considering in large batches." The program has a priority deadline for merit-based awards and separate final deadlines for international and domestic applicants, but "our cohorts typically fill prior to the final application deadline", so applying early is strongly encouraged.

International applicants

Visa documents (F-1/J-1) are provided for the full-time program but not the part-time program. A TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo score is required of international applicants whose first language is not English (minimums: TOEFL iBT 100 for tests taken before Jan. 2026, or 5.0 for tests taken after Jan. 2026; IELTS 7.0 with no sub-score below 6.0; Duolingo 120); it can be waived for a bachelor's or higher from an accredited university in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Canada (excluding French Quebec), English-speaking Africa, Australia or New Zealand, and the International Admissions page adds a waiver for U.S. citizens or permanent residents. All IELTS and Duolingo test takers must take the on-campus English Proficiency Evaluation. Admitted international students submit official marks sheets and diploma (with translations) and a Financial Statement. The program is STEM-designated (up to three years of STEM OPT). Tippie does not offer full-tuition scholarships; applicants must be prepared to fully self-fund.

Requirements

  • ResumeRequired

Listed in the application checklist. The General Catalog says the résumé should include information about employment, education, extracurricular activities, and community involvement.

  • Statement of purposeRequired

Listed in the application checklist. "Your statement of purpose may be submitted as a written statement (250-500 words) or a recorded video (1 minute and 25 seconds or 6MB)." Written statements can be pasted or uploaded as PDF, DOC or DOCX; directions for a recorded video are in the application.

  • Unofficial academic transcriptsRequired

Listed in the application checklist. "Unofficial transcripts are good enough for us to make an admissions decision. You can upload a copy in the online application." If admitted, official transcripts must be sent before admission can be finalized; international admits submit official marks sheets (transcripts) and diploma, with a translated copy if the original is not in English.

  • GMAT or GREOptional

GMAT (optional; or GRE): "Optional: GMAT or GRE score". "While not required, you do have the option to include a GMAT or GRE score to strengthen your application. We accept the GMAT or GRE on an equal basis." Scores are valid for five years; an unofficial score report is sufficient to apply, and admitted students send an official report.

GRE (optional; or GMAT): "Optional: GMAT or GRE score". "While not required, you do have the option to include a GMAT or GRE score to strengthen your application. We accept the GMAT or GRE on an equal basis." Scores are valid for five years; send GRE reports through the ETS Score Reporting site.

  • Duolingo English Test, IELTS, PTE or TOEFL iBTIf your degree wasn't taught in EnglishRequired — waiver possible

Duolingo English Test: Application page: "A TOEFL, IELTS,* or Duolingo* score is required of all international applicants whose first language is not English." Checklist: "TOEFL/IELTS score (international candidates only; may be waived)". Minimum: "Score of 120 or above" (application page: "Duolingo 120+"). "All IELTS and Duolingo test takers will be required to take the on-campus English Proficiency Evaluation."

IELTS: Application page: "A TOEFL, IELTS,* or Duolingo* score is required of all international applicants whose first language is not English." Checklist: "TOEFL/IELTS score (international candidates only; may be waived)". Minimum: "Overall score of 7 with no subscore less than 6" (application page: "7.0 IELTS with no sub-score below 6.0"). "All IELTS and Duolingo test takers will be required to take the on-campus English Proficiency Evaluation."

PTE (not listed): Not on the list of accepted English tests: the application page names "A TOEFL, IELTS,* or Duolingo* score" and the International Admissions table lists only TOEFL iBT, IELTS and DuoLingo (DET).

TOEFL iBT: Application page: "A TOEFL, IELTS,* or Duolingo* score is required of all international applicants whose first language is not English." Checklist: "TOEFL/IELTS score (international candidates only; may be waived)". Minimum: "Total score 100" for TOEFL iBT / TOEFL iBT Home Edition taken before Jan. 2026, "Total score 5.0" for tests taken after Jan. 2026 (International Admissions table; the admissions page says the same). The application page gives only "100 iBT TOEFL". Send via ETS using institution code 6681 and department code 01. Scores are good for two years.

Waiver / exemption: Application page: "Even if English is your second language, you can be waived from the TOEFL/IELTS/Duolingo if you completed a bachelor's or higher from an accredited university in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada (excluding French Quebec), Africa (English speaking), Australia, or New Zealand." International Admissions page: "You may get an English language test waiver if you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident."
