International applicants

STEM-designated: eligible for the 24-month STEM OPT extension; visa-eligible (email leedsgrad@colorado.edu to discuss options). Proof of English proficiency is required for an international application to be reviewed: TOEFL iBT 80+ (preferred 100), TOEFL iBT26 4+, IELTS 6.5+, Duolingo 115+, PTE 58+ or Cambridge 180+. Exempt: citizens of listed qualifying countries (including India, Canada except Quebec, the UK, Australia, Nigeria, Singapore), applicants with at least one year of full-time study at a U.S. or qualifying-country institution ending within two years of the admission term, or completed OPT ending within two years. MOI letters and English-language programs do not count. Most 3-year degrees from India are accepted; third-party evaluations (WES, ECE) are not accepted. Official non-U.S. transcripts go to intlgrad@colorado.edu if admitted. A notarized financial statement is required after admission before an I-20 is issued. International applicants seeking scholarships should apply in Round 1 or 2; final international deadline February 3, 2027.

    Upload an unofficial transcript from each collegiate institution attended (including community colleges, study abroad, summer sessions and extension programs), with all courses and grades, in the original language with certified English translations when applicable. One official transcript per institution is required before enrollment if admitted.

    Duolingo English Test: Minimum 115+ (on the 160 point scale).

    IELTS: Minimum 6.5+ (7.0+ applies only to MS Accounting and MS Taxation).

    PTE Academic: Minimum 58+. Send scores to University of Colorado Boulder, Department = Leeds MBA/MS.

    TOEFL iBT: Minimum 80+ (preferred 100) on the TOEFL iBT; minimum 4+ on the TOEFL iBT26. MyBest scores not accepted. Upload a verifiable score report or email it to leedsgrad@colorado.edu; ETS school code 4841.

    Waiver / exemption: Not required for citizens of a listed qualifying country (e.g. Australia, Canada except Quebec, India, Ireland, Nigeria, Singapore, UK); for applicants who completed at least one year of full-time study at a U.S. or qualifying-country institution, ending within two years of the intended admission term (official transcripts verify); or who completed OPT ending within two years of the admission term (SEVP employment history and I-20 copy). English-language programs and Medium of Instruction (MOI) letters do not meet the requirement.

  • No interview for MS applicantsIf invited

    There are no interview requirements for MS applicants (the Zoom interview applies to MBA programs only).

Who can apply

  • Four-year U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalentRequired

    Applicants must have completed the equivalent of a four-year U.S. baccalaureate degree at a regionally accredited institution. No specific undergraduate coursework or degree is required; the committee may require prerequisite or recommend review courses after evaluating your background. The international page says most 3-year degrees from India are accepted.
