How the rounds work
Fall: January 15 (priority), April 15 (regular), rolling through August 1. After the regular deadline, many programs accept applications until their cohorts are full; applications are reviewed in the order completed. (Dates are printed without a year; see _unpublished.)
International applicants
Applicants who are not native speakers of English must submit TOEFL iBT, IELTS or Duolingo scores unless exempt (citizens of Australia, Canada except Quebec, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, Guyana, an Anglophone country of Africa or an English-speaking country of the Caribbean; a degree earned in the U.S., one of those countries, or from an institution where English is the medium of instruction; or two consecutive full-time years of study in a degree program in the U.S. or at an English-speaking school before enrollment). GRE scores are required unless the applicant will have received a degree from an institution in the U.S. or Canada by enrollment. Master's applicants who will need a new student visa should apply for fall entry no later than the regular deadline (typically April 15); those transferring a current U.S. visa status (SEVIS record) may apply by the program's final deadline (typically August 1). International students must confirm enrollment and pay the deposit by April 15 for fall admission; students who need visa assistance are admitted only as full-time students. Transcripts not in English need a certified translation.
