How the rounds work
The admissions committee reviews applications on a rolling basis with generally five reviewing batches: one in December, one in January, February, March, and April. Fall 2027 deadlines: January 31st, 2027 for international applicants and April 1st, 2027 for domestic applicants. Applications for Spring or Summer terms are not considered.
International applicants
International applicants must provide TOEFL or IELTS scores (UF minimums: TOEFL iBT & Home Edition 4.5 with 4.0 in each sub-section; IELTS Academic 6.5) unless exempt, e.g. after a degree or one academic year of study in the U.S., in a country where English is the only official language, or at an institution where English is the only official language of instruction; the program FAQ says Duolingo scores can't be used. Scores compiled from multiple tests are not accepted. Unofficial transcripts are accepted for review; transcripts not issued in English need a certified, literal English translation; a credential evaluation (course-by-course, NACES member) is optional. The College of Engineering requires a 4-year bachelor's degree for international students. The international deadline (January 31st, 2027) is earlier than the domestic one. After admission, the UF International Center (UFIC) handles student visa documentation. The program is STEM-designated and scheduled as an on-campus degree.

Requirements
Curriculum Vitae (CV), maximum 2 pagesRequired
'The maximum number of pages for your CV is 2 pages.' Parts of the admissions rubric are evaluated directly (and only) from the CV; the program offers a CV template. UF: the CV or resume must include all post-high school education and employment, as well as information about ongoing international affiliations and research funding (Florida Statute).

Listed under General Admission Requirements. 'The maximum number of words for your SOP is 750 words.' 'The SOP will be evaluated independently from other submitted documents.' Guidance in essay_prompts.
Official B.S. degree transcript
The school’s official pages say this differently. Here is what each one says — check with the school before you rely on it.
Official B.S. degree transcript (sent directly by your institution)
Preparing Your Packet: 'Provide an official transcript from the institution where you earned your B.S. degree. This should be sent directly from your institution to our admissions office.' It should show cumulative GPA, degree conferral, all courses and grades, with a conversion table if the grading system doesn't map to a 4.0 scale.
Preparing Your Packet - MS in AI Systems ↗Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions (unofficial for review)
UF Office of Admissions: 'For the purpose of initial review, the Office of Admissions accepts unofficial transcripts.' Applicants who receive an offer of admission send official transcripts from each postsecondary institution attended. The College of Engineering lists 'Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions', 'Unofficial transcripts for application review' and 'Official transcripts are required prior to the enrollment term'.
Apply: Graduate - How to Apply (UF Office of Admissions) ↗Three (3) letters of recommendation3 letters
'Recommendation letters are typically written from former professors or industry professionals who can attest to the skills, character, and achievements of the individual seeking the recommendation.' Packet page: 'Choose recommenders who are familiar with your academic or professional abilities'.

UF minimum acceptable score: TOEFL (iBT & Home Edition) 4.5, with Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing sub-sections 4.0 each. Scores must be sent electronically by ETS (school code 5812). UF does not accept scores compiled from multiple tests. UF's list of minimum scores also names Verbal GRE 140 (for programs that require the GRE, in addition to TOEFL or IELTS) and the UF ELI Exit Certificate.
Waiver / exemption: UF Office of Admissions: 'All international applicants will be required to provide English Proficiency Test Scores and meet the minimum score requirements. Students from countries where English is the only official language, who have attended non-US institutions where the only official language of instruction is English, or who have earned a degree within the United States may qualify for an exemption at the discretion of the academic department.' 'Exemptions are granted if applicants' have successfully completed one academic year in a degree-seeking program, or hold an earned associate's, bachelor's, master's or PhD degree, at a UF-recognized/accredited U.S. institution, in a country where English is the only official language, or at a non-US institution in which English is the only official language of instruction. The page lists 'Countries Exempt from English Proficiency'.
