One application deadline per start term is listed (Fall 2027: January 15, 2027). Effective starting with Fall 2027 admission, citizenship alone no longer satisfies Georgia Tech's English proficiency requirement. Graduate Education only accepts international credential evaluations from approved service providers. ISyE admissions offers will generally not include any form of financial assistance.

Requirements

    The admissions process examines prior academic performance, GRE scores, personal statement and recommendation letters.

    In the application's Employment section, provide employment information and upload your resume or CV.

  • TranscriptsRequired

    Copies of your transcripts should be uploaded with your online application. If admitted and you decide to enroll, official transcripts must be sent to the Office of Graduate Studies.

  • Letters of Recommendation (up to three recommenders)3 letters

    Recommendations should come from either an academic or professional reference. The application asks for contact information for 'up to three recommenders' (three is the maximum), 'depending on the program's specific requirements'.

    The MSOR portal page lists 'Letters of Recommendation' under Application Requirements, without a number. Graduate Education's Application Instructions: 'Provide contact information for up to three recommenders in the application, depending on the program's specific requirements.' 'Your application can be submitted before your letters of recommendation are submitted.'

  • GMAT not listed (GRE required)Not accepted

    The GRE is required for all MS applicants; the program's pages don't list the GMAT as an alternative.

    Waiver / exemption: Fall 2027 rules (Graduate Education): a post-secondary degree with English as the official language of instruction (transcript notation, institutional letter or Medium of Instruction certificate); a post-secondary degree earned in an approved country; a post-secondary degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution; or an approved USG campus-based ESL program. Citizenship alone will no longer be sufficient.

    Applicants typically hold an undergraduate degree in engineering, mathematics, science, or computing and have strong quantitative skills. Prior background in operations research is not required.

  • Four-year U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalentRequired

    Institute requirement: award of a 4-year U.S. Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

  • CalculusRequired

    The prerequisite coursework for ISyE master's degrees includes strong performance in calculus. Students from unaccredited degree programs or programs found lacking in relative substance can expect to first take preliminary coursework.

  • Linear algebraRequired

    The prerequisite coursework for ISyE master's degrees includes strong performance in linear algebra. Students from unaccredited degree programs or programs found lacking in relative substance can expect to first take preliminary coursework.

  • Probability and statisticsRequired

    The prerequisite coursework for ISyE master's degrees includes strong performance in probability and statistics. Students from unaccredited degree programs or programs found lacking in relative substance can expect to first take preliminary coursework.

  • Work experienceOptional
